Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Ship Captain to join our team at Oceanic Transport Inc. Based in Miami, FL, you will oversee all vessel operations, ensure safety compliance, and lead a skilled crew on international voyages. This is a full-time position offering competitive compensation and benefits.
Responsibility
- Command and navigate vessels safely across domestic and international routes.
- Manage and supervise crew members, including scheduling and performance evaluation.
- Ensure compliance with international maritime regulations and safety standards.
- Oversee cargo operations, including loading, unloading, and documentation.
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of the vessel.
- Maintain accurate logs and report voyage details.
- Coordinate with port authorities and other vessels.
- Implement emergency procedures and respond to incidents.
Qualification
- Valid Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC) and Master’s License.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Ship Captain or similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of navigation systems and maritime laws.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work extended periods at sea.
- STCW certification and medical fitness.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Science or related field.
