Responsibility
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and quality standards set by the Head Chef.
- Ensure all food preparation areas and equipment are maintained in a clean, sanitary, and organized manner.
- Assist in receiving, rotating, and properly storing all food deliveries to minimize waste and ensure freshness.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team during service to ensure timely and accurate plating of dishes.
- Adhere strictly to all health department regulations, safety protocols, and HACCP guidelines.
- Participate in menu development and contribute creative ideas for seasonal specials.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate replenishment needs to the Sous Chef.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on proper techniques and station setup.
Qualification
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of professional line cook experience in a high-volume restaurant.
- Education: Culinary degree from an accredited institution is highly preferred.
- Skills: Expert-level knife skills, deep understanding of cooking techniques, and ability to multitask under pressure.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with a wide variety of cuisines, dietary restrictions, and allergen protocols.
- Certification: Valid Food Handler's Certificate (ServSafe or equivalent).
- Availability: Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Mindset: A relentless pursuit of perfection, strong work ethic, and positive team-oriented attitude.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
