Responsibility
- Craft and serve espresso-based beverages including lattes, cappuccinos, flat whites, and seasonal specialties with precision and consistency
- Operate professional espresso equipment including La Marzocco machines and commercial grinders, performing daily calibration and maintenance
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting guests, taking orders accurately, and ensuring every visit exceeds expectations
- Maintain immaculate workspace cleanliness, including equipment sanitization, counter wiping, and timely restocking of supplies
- Process cash, credit card, and mobile payments accurately while ensuring compliance with cash handling procedures
- Collaborate with team members to manage rush periods efficiently and support a positive working environment
- Assist with inventory management by tracking stock levels and communicating supply needs to the shift manager
- Represent our brand values by staying knowledgeable about our coffee origins, brewing methods, and flavor profiles
Qualification
- Minimum 6 months of experience as a barista or in a customer-facing food service role
- Current Washington State Food Handler's Permit or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
- Deep passion for specialty coffee and commitment to continuous learning about brewing techniques and flavor profiles
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor and natural ability to build rapport with customers
- Ability to work rotating shifts including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Comfortable standing for extended periods (up to 6 hours) and managing physically demanding work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail with ability to multi-task and prioritize during high-volume periods without sacrificing quality
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree or coursework in hospitality/culinary arts preferred
