Responsibility

  • Greet and seat guests warmly, manage reservations, and accommodate special requests to ensure a seamless dining experience.
  • Present menus, explain daily specials, and provide knowledgeable recommendations on food and beverage pairings.
  • Take accurate orders using the POS system, relay details to the kitchen promptly, and monitor service flow to meet timing standards.
  • Deliver food and beverages to tables with proper etiquette, check in regularly for guest satisfaction, and resolve any issues diplomatically.
  • Process payments, handle cash and credit transactions accurately, and provide itemized receipts and change courteously.
  • Maintain a clean, stocked station by resetting tables, polishing glassware, and adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with team members and management to optimize table turnover, upsell menu items, and contribute to a positive work atmosphere.

Qualification

  • High school diploma or equivalent; hospitality certification a plus.
  • Minimum 2 years of proven experience as a waiter/waitress in a fine-dining or high-volume restaurant.
  • Excellent knowledge of food, wine, and cocktail menus with strong upselling abilities.
  • Impeccable verbal communication and interpersonal skills in English; multilingual is a bonus.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and carry trays for extended periods (up to 8 hours per shift).
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as per business needs.
  • Valid New York City Food Protection Certificate or willingness to obtain within 30 days.
  • Professional demeanor, attention to detail, and a genuine passion for hospitality.
